Terms of Sale and Use
For the Google Sheets add-on Compare Two Sheets — Lambda Tools. Last updated 14 August 2026.
The short version. You pay once and keep the licence. It includes all 1.x updates; a future major version may be a paid upgrade. If it is not what you wanted, ask for a refund within 14 days and you will get one. Check the report before you act on it — it is a $19 tool, and our liability is limited to what you paid.
1. Who you are contracting with
These terms are between you and TODO-LEGAL-ENTITY ("we", "us"), the developer of Compare Two Sheets — Lambda Tools (the "add-on"). By installing or using the add-on, you accept them.
2. What you are buying
A perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the add-on, paid once. There is no subscription and no renewal. The licence does not expire, and it does not stop working because you stopped paying — there is nothing to stop paying.

3. Updates, and what "lifetime" means here
Your licence includes all 1.x updates; major versions may be a paid upgrade. Bug fixes, improvements and new capabilities released as version 1.x are covered by what you already paid. If a version 2 is ever released, it may be sold as a separate or discounted upgrade rather than given away — and your 1.x licence keeps working regardless. We will not withdraw a version you have paid for.
4. Your licence key
Your key is delivered by email after purchase and pasted into the add-on once. The key is the licence. It is not tied to a Google account, a device or a browser, so changing computers or Google accounts costs you nothing — paste it in again.
That convenience comes with an obligation: do not publish, share or resell your key. A key posted publicly is the one thing that would force us to revoke it, and revoking it would cut off whoever paid for it. Seat counts above are a term of this licence rather than something the software counts for you; we are trusting you with them.
5. What you may not do
- Resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the add-on or your licence key.
- Circumvent or remove the licence check.
- Use the add-on to build a competing product, or repackage it as your own.
Reverse engineering is permitted to the extent that applicable law grants you that right regardless of what these terms say.
6. Payment and invoicing
Payments are processed by Polar as merchant of record. Polar is the seller of record for the transaction, charges and remits any applicable tax, and issues your invoice. Your payment details are handled by Polar; we never see them. Polar's own terms apply to the payment transaction.
7. Refunds
14 days, no argument. Email support@lambdabit.dev within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you in full — you do not have to justify it, and you do not have to have found a fault. Your licence key is revoked when the refund is issued.
This is offered on top of, and does not limit, any statutory right of withdrawal you have as a consumer under the law of your own country.
After 14 days we will still look at a genuine problem — tell us what went wrong. A tool someone cannot use is a support case before it is a refund case.
8. What the add-on depends on
The add-on runs inside Google Sheets, on Google Apps Script, and validates licences through Polar. We do not control any of those, and none of them is contractually promised to us. If Google changes Apps Script, withdraws an API, or changes what add-ons are permitted to do, the add-on may need to change or may stop working. We will do what is reasonable to keep it running, but we cannot guarantee a platform we do not own.
If the licence server is unreachable, the add-on keeps working for a grace period rather than locking you out. An outage on our side is not supposed to become your problem.
9. Check the report before you act on it
The add-on tells you which rows differ between two sheets. It is a comparison tool, not an audit, an accounting system or a source of assurance. Most people use it for reconciliation, and reconciliation decisions move money — so verify the report before acting on it, particularly where the result would trigger a payment, a shipment, a deletion or a filing.
In particular, if your key column contains repeated values the add-on completes the comparison and warns you, both in the dialog and in a note on the report itself. That warning is there because rows sharing a key cannot be matched one-to-one. Read it.
10. No warranty, and the limit of our liability
The add-on is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for any particular purpose of yours.
Our total liability to you, for any and all claims, is limited to the amount you paid for the licence. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost data, or business decisions taken on the basis of a report.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death, personal injury, fraud, or a consumer's mandatory statutory rights.
11. Ending the licence
Your licence ends if you materially breach these terms — in practice, by redistributing your key or circumventing the licence check. Otherwise it does not end. You can stop using the add-on at any time by uninstalling it, which also revokes every permission it holds (see the privacy policy).
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for future purchases. Changes do not apply retroactively to a licence you have already bought — the terms you bought under are the terms that govern it. Material changes are posted here with a new date above.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Romania, and the Romanian courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country, and you may bring proceedings there.
